MEMBERSHIP

REGULAR MEMBERSHIP is open to the following and their spouses or domestic partners (including widow(er)s or after divorce): current and emeriti faculty and administrative officers, lecturers, senior staff of UC Berkeley, senior staff members of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, current and emeriti UC Regents, faculty from other higher educational institutions in the Bay Area and visiting scholars.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP is open to all those who are not in the Regular Membership category; after written nomination by three regular Section Club members.

The first step in becoming an associate member is to get involved in one or more of our activity sections or volunteering for one of our sponsored services. To attend an activity section as a guest, contact the Section Chair by emailing usectionclub@berkeley.edu. Your phone number will be forwarded to the appropriate Chair. Put "Membership" in the subject line.  A good volunteer opportunity is available with the Foreign Student and Scholar Committee at The Centre (Thursday mornings at the YWCA). Students and scholars from abroad and their families have a friendly place to meet and socialize.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES are a tax-deductible $40.00 for a couple or $30.00 per person. Membership entitles you to all the Club-Wide Events and to join as many sections as you wish. In addition, individual activity sections make assessments for postage and other expenses.  To contact a section chair send an e-mail to usectionclub@berkeley.edu and put the name of the activity section in the subject line. An invitation to the Fall Reception at University House and to become part of this organization is mailed in August to everyone eligible to join. Invitations to returning members are mailed to their home, the rest have their invitations sent to the mailboxes at work.  (We welcome help in completing our mailing list.)

VISITING SCHOLARS

You and your spouse/domestic partner are very welcome to join our club.  The University Section Club, Inc. is a wonderful way to enhance your sabbatical stay at UC Berkeley. We have over 400 members and we would warmly welcome you at any of the Activity Sections that interest you.
